Teaching Sam and Scout

Halloween 2015

Halloween

Happy Halloween from our wild crew to yours!

Last week was a hard week in many ways, but yesterday was the best. As I’ve mentioned, Halloween is a BIG deal on our street. We spent the day decorating our house with excessive spiderwebs and orange lightbulbs (Sam LOVED it), cooking, and finalizing our costumes. For the last four or so years, we’ve had both of our families over for chili, cider, and trick-or-treating. It’s fun to celebrate with everyone, and it frees Jeff and I to take Sam out while everyone else mans the candy at our house. By 5PM, our guests had arrived, the street had been closed off, multiple families had moved furniture and fire pits into the front yard, and the streets started to fill. I probably love our house/neighborhood the most on October 31st.

As you can see from the photo above, all my Halloween dreams came true this year when I got all four of us in matching costumes (!!!). Sam had a blast racing from one house to the next with his buddies and, later, personally placing handfuls of candy in each trick-or-treater’s bucket. I’d estimate that saw over 300 kids and ate over 30 pounds of candy. It was the best! (And topped off with a Tiger win and an extra hour of sleep. It doesn’t get much better!)

How was your holiday? What were your kids? Did you dress up?

Are you one of the crazy ones that will decorate for Christmas today?

I’m off to start removing spider webs and continue stalking adorable Halloween photos on FB. 😉 Enjoy your Sunday!
