Woohoo!!! It’s fall y’all!!! (Ok, at least according to the calendar it is… It’s 90 degrees here today, but I’m totally pulling out the pumpkins and gords. Fall weather has to come soon, right?!?)

We have a gloriously empty schedule this weekend, and I’m SO looking forward to time at home with nothing really to do. Last night I did some “fall decorating” and we ate chili and cornbread (listen, I’ll pretend it’s actually “fall” all I want to) with my brother and sister-in-law last night. Today, I’m hoping to work on switching over the kids’ closets with more fall/winter apparel and make some progress on this month’s B+ goals, but we’ll see if that actually happens… What are your plans?

As usual, here’s a round up of the best of the best (at least imho) from the internet this week:

Links:

“When Other Parents Love Your Child” – Spoiler alert: It’s the best.

“5 Rules for Hosting a Crappy Dinner Party and Seeing Your Friends More Often” – I’ve mostly transitioned to this style of “entertaining,” and I love it.

“20 Books Everyone Will Be Talking about This Fall” – as if I needed more books on my list! (Lots of repeats on Jo’s list too.)

“Kids Are Gross: Mom Receives Hilarious Call from School” – this made me laugh out loud

“Why You Don’t Have to Fear the Upcoming Election” – good reminder from Lysa TerKeurst

Bonus: This isn’t new, but I found this post from Rage Against the Minivan this week while I was doing some “research” and thought some of you might find it helpful too – “How to Talk to Kids about Race and Racism.” Some of the links/images don’t work anymore, but I really like that it offers a guide organized by age group (starting at 2+) for what you should be talking about with your kids and provides some “practical suggestions for developing an environment in which diversity is valued” at the end. I was both convicted and encouraged. I don’t have any great words of wisdom or advice on all that is going on in our country right now; but, I do think we have a serious problem, and I believe the solution comes in the form of educating and changing the narrative for our children. I’m not wasting any time.

Likes:

Lindsay Letters’ Fall Collection – I love the canvas shown above, and I LOVE this one (in orange and purple, of course). *She’s currently “on vacation” until October 3rd, but you can still browse.

This Is Us – If you haven’t already seen last Tuesday’s premiere of this new show on NBC, you are not prioritizing your life appropriately missing out. It’s been dubbed the “next Parenthood,” and so far, it has NOT disappointed. Jeff and I both loved it (which is a big deal for us). I’m already counting down until next Tuesday (or Wednesday because our TV doesn’t work and I don’t stay up until 11PM.) *Disclaimer* My blog-friend Callie pointed out something that I didn’t even notice when I watched, but it was a big enough thing to make her give up on the show entirely.

“Forever Country” – such a great video with so many talented voices in honor of the CMAs’ 20th anniversary

I love this dress. (It might be a little short though… What do you think?)

As long as we’re dreaming of fall… This scarf is perfect.

And there you have it.

Once again, THANK YOU for all the love about my eBook launch this week. On to regular “programming” next week… Promise. 🙂

Enjoy your Saturday!
