Teaching Sam and Scout

Superbowl Sunday Links & Likes

Anyone else SUPER excited about the JT half-time show and the This Is Us after show, but couldn’t really care less about the actual Super Bowl?!? Just in case you need some light reading to do between commercials and trips to the cheese dip ;), here are a few of my favorite things from around the web (and the library) lately…

Links:

Did you see Milo’s peace offering to Crockpot? So funny and cute. Well played on both sides. #crockpotisinnocent

Momsplaining with Kristen Bell – so funny. I love her.

“Encouraging a Love of Reading in a Culture of Assessment” – P.S. What do you think is the best age to start reading Harry Potter aloud? My students say 8 or 9.

“9 Time Habits That Will Make You Super Productive in 2018” by Laura Vanderkam – I’m really trying to do 3, 4, and 5 this year.

And if those things don’t work out… “To the Mom Always a Step Behind” 🙂

This video is HILARIOUS. I’ve sent it to all my friends. Just don’t watch it with your kids around. #ratedRforlanguage

My uncle actually cut this article (on the end of “Mommy Blogging”) out of The Washington Post last week and mailed me a hard copy. It was fun to get old fashioned mail, and the article is interesting. What do you think? Is the gig up?

If you’re a Mini Boden fan but not a fan of the price tag, check out FireAm on Amazon. You’re welcome! 🙂 (FYI: Nora has one of these that I got from Jane.com back at Christmas.  It is definitely not as high-quality as Boden, but it’s perfect for one season of wear.)

Speaking of Amazon knock-offs, I recently got this fleece for 1/3rd of the price of the Abercrombie one I keep seeing on Instagram. You can kind-of tell it’s cheap, but it is SUPER cozy and cute. I’m happy with my decision.

Has anyone tried these pants from Old Navy? Leggings WITH built-in-sculpt? I just ordered a pair…

I’m not buying it (#selfcontrol), but how cute is this Lou & Gray sweater for Valentine’s Day?

Do your kids play Homer? Mine are big fans, and I *think* it’s actually teaching them some things.

We are also loving us some Bop It! around here. I have the family score of 41. No big deal.

Sam is going to give away Pokemon cards instead of Valentines this year, so I got these cute stickers to put on the back of them.

I really want a fake fiddle leaf fig tree for our house, but I had no idea they are so expensive. Are they worth it?

And last but not least… I’m currently reading The Bright Hour (inspired by this article), Jamie Ivey’s new book, If You Only Knew (a super-quick read), The Road Back to You (on the enneagram), and I’m listening to Sing, Unburied, Sing for my Book Club on the 15th. I also just grabbed this for $2 on Kindle and can’t wait to start it.

So, what are you linking? Liking? Reading? Entertain me while I wait for Sob Fest 2018 after the big game.
