Happy Saturday! It’s going to be less than 85 degrees here all weekend, college football has officially started (Go CLEMSON Tigers!), and Monday is a holiday. It doesn’t get much better than that folks!! We have a 30th birthday party to attend for a friend tonight and a baby shower brunch tomorrow; but, other than that, I’m looking forward to some down time for reading (I feel like all the books I’ve been waiting for at the library became available at the same time this week), finishing up my eBook (yay!), and just hanging out with my gang. What are your plans?!?!
As always, in case you find yourself with a few minutes for browsing the internet, here are my favorite Links & Likes from the last week:
Links:
“I Suck at Being a Friend Right Now” – I almost cried when I read this because I can relate so, so much, and I remember feeling SO guilty when Sam was little, especially. I’m thankful for the friends that have “held on” for me, and hope I will be that friend for others. We’ll be back one day!
“6 Things We Need to Do If We Love Blogs and Podcasts” – This is a REALLY great list, and it’s so true. While I’d love if you all did more of these things for me (not going to lie), I realized I’m totally guilty of not doing them for my favorite bloggers and podcasters too, so no one is pointing fingers here. (P.S. I might write more about this some day soon – how the process of writing an eBook – which I plan to sell for real money – and growing my blog a little has changed me as a blogger and a blog-reader. Anyone have any interest in that?!?)
“Stop Touting the Crazy Hours You Work. It Helps No One.” – Preach it!
“The Kindergarten Club” – I haven’t really followed Kelle Hampton consistently for a while now, but I did when her Nella was first born, and I ran across this post today about Nella starting school. It’s beautiful and hopeful and real. Read it.
And, for my teacher friends… Stephanie of Eat.Write.Teach shared her Classroom Tour yesterday, and it is AWESOME. There are so many great organizational ideas here, but I especially love that she’s using QR codes with her “yellow sheets” and the cool little cell phone policy tool she’s implemented.

The entire Draper James Tailgate Collection
Nick Viall as the next Bachelor – He totally won me over on Bachelor in Paradise. What do you think?
Nora’s new “big girl” sneakers came this week, and we LOVE them.
Simple September Desktop Calendar from Ashlee Proffitt – I used her design in August too. I love how clean it looks. (my favorite wallpapers for my phone)
Girls at Library – a fun new Instagram find thanks to Cup of Jo
And a few good deals I’m taking advantage of this weekend:
- This vest is only $24 with code CRAZYDEAL (I’ve been looking for a vest like this for a long time, and this is the best price I’ve seen!)
- Old Navy has 50% off all dresses (also jeans and tees) this weekend. I love the heavy-knit shift (only $16.50) for me, the patterned knit swing dress ($6.50) for Nora.
- Boden is offering 20% off (many things are already marked down) with code 2F5Z + free shipping when you spend $49.00 I got this Farm Life T-Shirt (in chickens) for Sam.
That’s all for today! Have a great one!!!
