Happy Saturday to ya! We’re headed off to our annual neighborhood Thanksgiving/Christmas parade with friends soon, and celebrating Thanksgiving with Jeff’s extended family later this afternoon. It’s finally cold enough to feel like fall here, so I’m ready for all the sweaters, boots, soup, and hot chocolate a weekend can handle. What about you? Doing anything fun this weekend?
Here are some favorites from around the web for you to browse with your coffee this morning. Enjoy!

Did you see this AMAZING mash-up of classic movie dance scenes set to Uptown Funk? SO fun.
Love these words from Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney
“Letting Go” on The Fisk Files – I needed this.

Threshold Christmas Brights Collection for Target – Have you seen these? I use a vintage felt tree skirt that my Great Aunt made years ago, and it has a whimsical vibe with lots of fun colors. These accessories would go SO well with it.. I’ve already packed my virtual shopping cart!
This banner (on sale at Brickyard Buffalo) has a similar style.
Also, Nora may need these. 😉
LulaRoe – Are you wearing this stuff yet? It’s kind-of the next big craze, and based on the fact that their products are focused on being comfortable, flattering, and affordable, I can see why. The shopping model is a little weird though, and I’m still figuring it out. I’m so intrigued that I’m even considering doing an online party for blog readers/friends even though I’m usually not into that. Would you be interested?
Ugg’s new Classic Slim boots – I got rid of my old Uggs during a closet clean-out rampage this summer, and I’m seriously regretting it now. I love the look of these new-and-improved cozies.
This sweatshirt would go PERFECTLY with Uggs.
I’ve had my eye on this shirt for a while.
Rain for Roots “Waiting Songs” – Several of my friends rave about these folksy albums that set the Gospel to music for kids. I’m ordering a couple for Sam’s stocking, but think this Advent one sounds awesome too. (Sold out on Amazon? Can that even happen? It must be good.)
Speaking of Christmas gifts, how great is this rollable Lego mat?
And one more Christmas thing – I just learned about Star from Afar and am thinking about ordering one for our family. It seems like a simple, Jesus-focused alternative to Elf on the Shelf… Anyone have one or know anything about it?
That outta do it! Have a great weekend friends!
Love, E

I am somewhat intrigued by the LulaRoe party but I didn’t really go through the collections—I do not have much patience with online browsing for shopping purposes. I am much more an “in store” shopper. But I liked that they seemed to have plus size from the few pictures I saw?
I’d be interested in seeing your post on Christmas cards too. I do ok for myself in Photoshop and have made my son’s birthday invitations, but I have a hard time getting the fonts and embellishments (arrows, lines, etc) to look as artsy/professional as I’d like. I also have issues with printing, it seems most printing places take more off on the edges than I want them to and then letters/part of picture gets cut off. So unless I print them myself and mount on card stock, I’m never quite happy…and at that point, it just seems easier to order them lol!
And finally, I just saw Star from Afar too and thought the idea is really cute and Jesus centered. Having said that, I’m excited to do Elf on the Shelf this year for the first time with my two year old. I know you’re not a fan of it, but I think it will be a lot of fun to do low key, easy ideas. I’m not even going there with the whole elf thing is watching you or the not being able to touch the elf—I think both those ideas seem a little silly. I’d like to do a children’s Advent activity each evening and we can still check for the elf in the morning. It seems like a good mix to me.

you can also stream “rain for roots” on apple music! we’re listening to it on repeat!!
and i learned about lego play mats a few weeks ago. david LOVES his legos and cleaning them up is a huge battle. i’ve been having him dump them out on a blanket — same as the playmat!
Amanda K. says
ok. i commented about the lego thing before opening the link bc i’m a know-it-all and assumed…
i thought you were talking about this: https://www.beorganised.com.au/
that mat looks awesome!

Haha! That other mat seems cool too, but I agree that a big blanket is basically the same thing!! Do you do anything special to make sure the baby can’t get to the legos? Sam just started playing the little tiny ones right when Nora has started crawling, and I see a disaster in our future!

I didn’t use MINTED, but those cards are gorgeous! I would love a post of you sharing yours. 🙂 A post about Christmas traditions would be fun because those are always enjoyable to read about. I looked at the LuLaRoe site but couldn’t seem to get it to load right. I have heard of them but not really looked into it very much.
Have a good week!

Round-up of 2016 Paper Planners
I want to pick a 2016 planner soon and I would love your take on them! I used the Emily Ley planner this year and loved the design, but found it a bit bulky and not sturdy enough to survive the trip to and from home in my teacher bag each day.
I’m also trying to put together a Christmas card/birth announcement… probably going to use Vistaprint because it’s so easy and is relatively cheap. Would love to hear your tips!

If you are inside the computer or IT business, it can be a good go on to include large mouse mats to your inventory.
With this, you’ll be able to expect the actual mouse to possess a shorter life-span as compared to almost every other traditional mice.
