I had a post scheduled to go up today about shoes, but it seemed totally ridiculous (and inappropriate) in light of what is going on in South Carolina right now…
My Clemson roots make the Palmetto State like a second home to me, and I have many friends (and blog readers) in Columbia and Charleston. My dad also recently moved to Columbia for a new job, and my parents just bought a house there. I am so, so sad to see the pictures and hear the stories of devastation caused by the flooding there over the weekend.
Join me in praying for our friends in South Carolina today as they begin to rebuild. May the state be filled with hope, healing, and lots of helpers.

That’s perfect…..praying for lots of helpers
It’s so crazy!! But uhhh…so your parents are moving to Columbia?? Because that’s only an hour from Augusta, where I’m from/my parents live. What’re the odds you might go pay your parents a visit over the holidays and we could meet up?!! (I’m ‘making lemonade’ out of this post, I think…)
Thanks, E! It is crazy how much rain we have had. Thankfully we only have a minor leak in the roof and a boil water advisory, but some parts of our school district are a hot mess and the other side of town is a nightmare. We so appreciate your prayers. PS If you ever want to catch up when you’re in town, let me know!
The good thoughts and prayers are appreciated. My neighborhood is in good shape but many areas around us were hard hit by flooding… it has been unreal to see how much damage has been done. School was canceled for Friday, Monday, and now Tuesday… it’s going to be crazy when we do finally go back to school – hopefully on Wednesday.
Thanks so much! We are hanging in and things are getting better, slowly but surely
